Adobe recommends that you open a new document, although you can choose to open a previously saved image document instead. The file dialog box that opens up, as shown in Figure 4-1, enables you to select an image that you’ve already opened or to add the photo to the current document.

If you aren’t working with new photos, you should usually consider resaving your image to produce the best possible results with the tools in the program. Also, remember to save your image with the proper settings so that the image can be opened again.

These are some key features of Photoshop:

Sketching tools: This tool allows you to make quick changes to an image with a mouse or pen. You can use a click-and-drag tool that enables you to move the item that you click on around the image. You can also use the pen tool to make quickly drawn lines and shapes on the page, as shown in Figure 4-2.

From there, you can use almost all of the features of Photoshop Elements to edit your image files.

What Is Photoshop Elements?

First of all, if you don’t know how Photoshop works, then you might think that Photoshop Elements is just Photoshop without the professional version’s features and design.

Step 2) Open the Crop Tool.

If your photo is saved as a copy in a new folder, you’ll be able to open it in Photoshop Elements again because it is a Windows program.

However, if you want to reopen the image in the program, you’ll be asked for an image file. This can be a.jpg,.png,.tiff or.jpeg.

The History Brush tool allows you to apply edits or effects to an image without affecting surrounding areas. It can also be used to undo edits.
The Adjustment Brush is similar to the History Brush, except that the Adjustment Brush can be used to adjust a specific aspect of the image.
The Reverse tool allows you to reverse the placement or the foreground and the background of an image. This is a quick and easy way to add an interesting new spin to an image.

Can you do a little research and maybe “find” a family that needs a RHDT project and the family would like to be part of it. Now that would be a great success with a grateful family!!!

Yes, I think a great approach for seniors would be to find families that are in need and then find out what the skills and knowledge of the students would be applicable to, so that there is a family with a need and the potential students that would want to be a part of the project. Students need to be challenged. This could be an ideal position for our allisem.s, but the families have to be willing.

For the seniors, they would need to seek out needed families. They would need to do their research and visit with the families to “see” what kind of skills they could learn. This would be their real homework for the semester and a wonderful experience.

I like the idea of finding a real need and then finding out what skill set the students have and whether that is something they could really help out with. I think that you need to be careful and make sure that you get a good demographic. I have witnessed some of the video/drama projects that the seniors have completed. They were not very well done. I feel like the seniors are too independent to carry out this project and it would be better to work with children.
